The Latino Texas Policy Center (LTPC) will conduct the 3rd annual Policy Fellows Leadership Program (PFLP) in 2026. This Fellowship has been designed by the Latino Texas Policy Center and supported by our partnership with the University of Texas – Latino Research Institute.
DEADLINE TO APPLY: January 3, 2026
The fellowship’s primary outcome is to strengthen and increase the Latino research community’s leadership, voice, and influence in public policy.
Key Objectives of the Fellowship:
1. Increase the number of Latino professionals contributing their expertise to policy research, policy creation, and advocacy
2. Strengthen the capacity of current Latino researchers to contribute to public policy leadership
3. Reimagine and bridge the relationship between research and leadership skills to increase impact on community
4. Create working collaborations amongst Latino researchers across disciplines and community stakeholders
The Fellowship is a year-long program that includes the following:
1. An in-person 3 1/2-day intensive skills and leadership development training and policy summit
2. 3-5 virtual targeted skill development workshops
3. All fellows will receive a faculty mentor that will guide them throughout the year
4. Hands on leadership development training to truly enhance our Fellow’s ability to step into this work as a leader in their respective fields
5. The creation and distribution of direct and timely contributions to public policy in Texas. (Policy briefs, descriptive reports, policy fact sheets, and op-eds.

The 16 selected Fellows are from across the state and include graduate and doctoral-level students, faculty, and researchers from non-profit organizations. Each Fellow is committed to strengthening Latino Bienestar by conducting Latino-focused research and translating that research into policy documents to inform, educate, and influence equitable public policymaking.
